Total War

Total War Jerry AhernFor years John Rourke, ex-CIA Covert Operations Officer, weapons and personal survival expert had planned for just one thing.

Survival. For him and his family.

The emergency wilderness retreat had been found, fortified and supplied. Now the ultimate crisis was upon them: nuclear strike and Russian invasion.

With Rourke half a continent away from family and home.

And so began a desperate, epic journey to a home that might not even exist any more, across an America shattered and burning, where murderous bands fought and killed. Killed for food, for clothing, weapons, and even from a sheer lawless lust for destruction.

The Quest

The Quest Jerry AhernWorld War III has passed and John Thomas Rourke, ex-CIA Covert Operations Officer, weapons specialist and survival expert has at last reached his home only to find that his wife and two children have fled for their lives. With the knowledge that his family has survived the nuclear holocaust, Rourke, with the aid of young Paul Rubenstein, must find his loved ones. But the Soviets are consolidating their military hold on the country and both the ruthless KGB and the fledgling post-war U.S. government have begun their own search. First they must learn the purpose behind the massive launch of U.S. rockets on the night the war began. Then they have to determine the meaning of the mysterious Eden Project and find the one surviving NASA official who can answer all the questions. A deadly game of intrigue within the Soviet High Command, the formation of the American “resistance” and a highly placed traitor in the new U.S. government all block Rourke’s path. But nothing can stop him – he is The Survivalist. Jerry Ahern is an American author best known for his post apocalyptic survivalist series The Survivalist. The books in this series are heavy with descriptions of the weapons the protagonists use to survive and prosecute a seemingly never-ending war amongst the remnants of the superpowers from pre-apocalypse times. The series centers around the attempts of Dr. John Thomas Rourke, an ex-CIA agent, to preserve his family. In the first book, a nuclear war begins while Rourke is returning from a business trip. After surviving the crash of an airliner in the Southwest United States, Rourke fights his way across the chaotic horror of the post-war United States to his hidden subterranean survival retreat in Georgia, where he eventually reunites with his family.

The Nightmare Begins

The Nightmare Begins Jerry AhernWorld War III is now a bloody page in American history. With nuclear holocaust killing more than a quarter-billion people worldwide and the United States just a memory, John Thomas Rourke, ex-CIA Cover Operations Officer, weapons expert, and survival authority is enduring the ultimate test. Soviet Occupation Forces have landed and must begin the “pacification” of America. They will start by liquidating any prominent Americans who could become a rallying point for armed resistance. The first name on the list is Samuel Chambers, the lone surviving member of the Presidential cabinet. And as the American KGB invades Texas to find Chambers, they find Rourke there as well. With his young friend Paul Rubenstein, Rourke is fighting his way back home to continue the search for his missing wife and children. Paramilitary armies, heavily armed brigands, a beautiful KGB infiltrator, an unending stream of War refugees, and a land gone mad with violence block his path.
